S.1867 -- National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012

Scary stuff folks...

"The  worldwide indefinite detention without charge or trial provision is in S.  1867, the National Defense Authorization Act bill, which will be on the Senate  floor on Monday. The  bill was drafted in secret by Sens. Carl Levin (D-Mich.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.) and passed in a closed-door committee meeting, without even a single hearing."

The text of the bill:

Some articles going into the police state aspects:

Your link to the bill was temporary.

A perfect companion to PIPA/SOPA - one puts virtual America under an executive dictatorship, another puts physical America.

Kind of strange they're both within a month, huh?

On a related note, I wonder if incriminating businesses for financial transactions with those suspected of piracy means that people won't be able to buy food?
