States Must Force 17th Amendment Showdown

One point, the US Constitution did not have a mechanism for recall; this was contained in the Articles of Confederation, however the states were able to control senators who did not act according to state wishes through a number of other ways (see Zywicki; Husk and Shell...). However, if the repeal was accomplished in this day and age (we humbly pray) a recall measure would have to be added to ensure the state was protected from the wayward rogue.
