Bunning’s point was not that unemployment benefits should not be extended, merely that it should be paid for with money already appropriated. He made the point that if the Senate would not stand against this deficit spending, then they would never pay for anything. This is the truth. The Senate will continue to spend money that they do not have because it is in their interest to do so.
