What would you do, if you were the President of the United States and had a magic political wand to change things for the better? I definitely know what I would do...
Constitutional Convention:
I would have the states institute a constitutional convention for the repeal of the 17th amendment. That amendment took away states’ rights and has allowed the federal government to explode in size. It took away the election of the Senators by the states’ legislatures and replaced it with the direct popular vote. The states including your state, no longer has the ability to steer our republic to its best interest...
This web-log calls for the repeal of the 17th Amendment and addresses the hegemony committed by the US Senate. The first significant step to remove the domination and unmistakable corruption deriving from the National Government and the restoration of the Federal is to repeal the 17th Amendment. Americans should fear the steady hegemonic growth by the Senate oligarchy because the US Constitution cannot be spoiled by bombs, the courts, or the President, but only through malevolent legislation.

Actually, I think I would take away the vote from anyone who voted for Obama. The average IQ of the American voter would skyrocket and socialism would finally be history. Think of the great political debates we could have between people who voted for McCain and people who were smart enough not to vote for McCain! (I didn't vote for McCain, and I'm glad I didn't.)
