GOP Senator George Voinovich Will Vote Against Any Extension Of ...

Retiring Sen. George Voinovich (R-Ohio) has broken ground in the Senate by becoming the first to announce that he won't support any extension of the Bush tax cuts -- for middle-class families or the wealthy -- on the grounds that it ...

Comment: Here’s a clear example where the repeal of the 17th Amendment would affect the choice of a particular US Senator and their potential vote. Ohio is in dire straights economically and the last thing state officials would want to see is a federal tax hike. By ABCNews.com
All the talk in Washington today is about President Obama's deal to extend all the Bush tax cuts, but the Senate this morning is focused on something altogether different: the impeachment trial of a federal judge, only the 12th one in ...

Comment: Consider this, if the 17th Amendment was never enacted it would be the states that would be conducting the impeachment through their senator rather than a small group of 100 oligarchs making the decision. Repealing the 17th Amendment provides oversight from the states, rather than trusting 100 men and women who are beholden to the protection of the status quo
