The Utah Senate wants to have more of a say over the state’s elected officials in the U.S. Senate. Republican Senator Howard Stephenson’s bill would allow political parties to consult with the Legislature about current office holders and candidates, specifically about their actions on states’ rights issues. This morning, he said this would make U.S. Senators pay more attention to the legislature.
This web-log calls for the repeal of the 17th Amendment and addresses the hegemony committed by the US Senate. The first significant step to remove the domination and unmistakable corruption deriving from the National Government and the restoration of the Federal is to repeal the 17th Amendment. Americans should fear the steady hegemonic growth by the Senate oligarchy because the US Constitution cannot be spoiled by bombs, the courts, or the President, but only through malevolent legislation.

That would have as much effect as passing a law saying "you must not cheat", or "you may not carry guns here", etc... in other words if the intended subject would obey it, you wouldn't have needed it in the first place.
They attempt to satisfy those who sign their paycheck. In the case of the senate, that would be "the people" (AKA ACORN's dead voters). The state legislature signed the paychecks of senators initially, so that's who the senator tried to satisfy. No mystery, the 17th stole that power.
