Democratic Sen. Al Franken, who recently visited Afghanistan and Pakistan with Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin, D-Mich, has supported the US plans for expanding the military presence in the region for completely eradicating terror outfits and bringing stability in the troubled region.
Backing Obama’s plans to deploy 30,000 more troops to the region, Franken expressed, "I do support the president's plan. I may have done it a little bit differently myself but I ... came away from this trip feeling that we already have momentum from the president's speech."
It was the fifth visit by Franken to Afghanistan as the war has entered in the eight year...

Franken like those before is caving in to the pressures of power and the power elites he is surrounded by.
Who is he beholden to as affirms the deployment of more troops to combat and countless billions for war; certainly the voters of Minnesota won't remember in 5 years. But the earth will as lives are laid to rest and so will our grand children that will be working the rest of their lives to pay of the huge debt Franken and his kind are saddling them with.
I wonder what the staff of "Saturday Night Live" think of their great thinker, their great comedy writer, their great stone thrower, their great peace-nik; but I highly doubt there will be a skit written for his caving into the establishment.
