The Federal Reserve is a Private Institution

HT: Mike P. from Repeal the 17th Amendment Discussion Board

The weblog moderateobserver|dotcom has posted excerpts from the court case Lewis v. United States, 680 F.2d 1239 (1982), proving the Federal Reserve’s actual status. From the court case records one can clearly see that the Federal Reserve is an independent, privately owned corporation, and not a federal agency.

Comment: Folks need to awaken to the reality that the Federal Reserve’s operation is not to look out for the American people, but rather the interests of the financial institutions they represent and make money for those banks.

We rail about the high cost of gasoline, but through environmental regulations placed upon the oil industry such as where a company can drill, to how much and what kind of gas they must refine the U.S Government (USG) actually has more authority over the energy industry than it does over the printing of money in this country. Isn’t it bizarre, the USG controls almost all of the energy sector, but lets private banks control our monetary system?
